The "Too Much TLC Required" House
[The front. The windows are old and will probably need to be replaced. My agent pointed out that the roof would also need to be replaced.]
[The side of the house]
The Stats:
3 bedrooms
2 baths
1511 square feet
7490 square foot lot [it's on a corner]
Built: 1955
Floor furnace/no AC
Asking price: $399,900
[Partial view of the back yard]
At first glance this house wasn't too bad, though the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy and people would have a devil of a time finding it. Even before we entered the front door, however, it was clear to my agent that this house needed more than a little TLC.
The dining area was quite small and confined.
But the kitchen was beyond disaster. Nothing worked. It would have to be gutted to be liveable. I will spare you the rest: the sunken living room with no weather stripping on the doors and louvered windows that are a security nightmare; brick planters with fake ivy; a small master bedroom with tiny bath; a paved over backyard with no greenery. Yuck.
