First the updates: the "nice kitchen house" addition is permitted (but the added closet isn't - but that's probably just a $100 fee). We do have confirmation on the hardwood floors, too. The existing offer is full price and they've had the inspection. The only way I could get it is if it falls out of escrow. I'm going to walk around the neighborhood on Saturday (there was an unfriendly person next door while we were there and I want to find out if he's the owner). If it still looks good, I will probably submit a back-up offer.
I'm going to see a whole bunch more houses on Sunday afternoon, including "the probate house." There's one house I'm trying to get more info on. It looks too good to be true (3 bd/2 ba) 1500 square feet, and only $450,000. I suspect it's a short sale (the listing doesn't say). If it is, I won't see it, but if it isn't, it'll shoot right to the top of my list.
